Indoor Facility Space – Free Rentals

UDACF rents facility space for a variety of baseball organizations.  These include local public middle and high school baseball teams, adult leagues associated with the county police (Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Adult League), and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Activities League. Baseball teams and leagues make use of the facility to conduct tryouts, practices and workouts and tournaments/league games.

To help accommodate the lack of outdoor fields available for some teams, practice space is made available.  In some cases, the UDACF MLB coaches provide free instruction during their time using the facility.

Letter from Sylvester Perry, VP of Baseball, Pineville Community Athletic Association dated March 4, 2015

Dear Jeff Schaefer,

I have been with the Pineville Community Athletic Association (PCAA) since 2006. In all my years here, I have served as head coach, commissioner over every division (T –Ball, Coach Pitch, Major/Minor and Babe Ruth), and finally, V.P. of Baseball. Throughout these years our organization has been fortunate to never experience a cancellation of its’ baseball player evaluation day. This day officially kicks off our
season by allowing us to put equally competitive teams together.

On Thursday February 26, 2015 our good fortune came to an end when we were informed our fields would not be available to use due to the bad weather that recently struck our region.  Making matters worse, this news came two days before our player evaluations. This type of delay would push back our season, officially making all the months of planning useless. News of another rainy forecast for the following week meant further postponement to our season.

We needed an indoor fully load baseball facility that could handle up to 200 players being evaluated, within a close proximally to the Pineville/Charlotte/Fort Mill area with short notice.  Almost an impossible task until we reached out to Carolinas Baseball Center (CBC). Within less than an hour of our call for help, they welcomed us to use their entire facility free of charge, the exact weekend we originally had scheduled our player evaluations.  This act of kindness shows how much CBC cares about its community baseball rec organizations. Our player evaluations were a success at Carolinas Baseball Center.

Thanks to their kind professional staff, that made sure we had everything we needed, including making us feel as if we were at our home fields. Our league’s parents were impressed with their baseball facility and many others were not aware such a baseball environment existed right in our community.

Thank you Carolinas Baseball Center for helping make the impossible possible and making sure our community based rec baseball leagues continue to flourish.

Sylvester Perry
PCAA V.P. Of Baseball
