Beginning in 2014, UDACF provided assistance to certain players to participate in two separate bus trip events. A two-day Spring Training Event hosted by the Virginia Sports Complex and a seven-day College Circuit Event and Tournament. These trips include freshmen, sophomores and juniors for the Spring Training Event, and sophomores and juniors for the College Circuit Event/Tournament.
Spring Training Event
This bus trip includes freshmen, sophomores and juniors traveling from Charlotte, NC to the Virginia Sports Complex in Ruther Glen, Virginia. This two-day event includes intensive training, skill development and college pro-style workouts and is attended by various regional college and university baseball programs. It is an opportunity for athletes to be seen by multiple college recruiters in one location. The average cost per athlete for this two-day event is $325.00.
College Circuit Trip & Diamond Nation Invitational Tournament
Sophomore and junior teams travel together by bus to from Charlotte, NC to Flemington, NJ with stops along the way in eastern NC, Virginia and Maryland. This 7-day trip includes showcase events at colleges and universities where they are seen and evaluated by college baseball recruiters and coaches. The final destination of the trip includes participation in the Diamond Nation Invitational Tournament in Flemington, N.J. This is the largest east coast Collegiate Showcase tournament and includes representatives from over 70 colleges and MLB teams in attendance to scout the players.
Diamond Nation Tournament
In 2015, the 7-day bus event included pro-style workouts at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, Virginia Military Institute, and the University of Maryland in addition to the four-day Diamond Nation Tournament. The average cost per athlete to participate in this opportunity is $750.
In 2016, the 7-day bus event included pro-style workouts at Highpoint, James Madison, William & Mary & Radford University, in addition to the four-day Diamond Nation Tournament. The average cost per athlete to participate in this opportunity is $750.
