The UDACF partnered with the Carolina Metro Reds by providing space for three hours each Saturday for the Reds to host a camp for their players. The Carolina Metro Reds led by Morris Madden is working alongside the UDACF by providing their players an opportunity to grow both in the game of baseball and outside the game of baseball.
The Metro Reds include the following on their website:
“The basis of this organization is to serve our youth, with extra emphasis on disadvantaged young men and women by providing a safe and professional opportunity to learn and develop their skill in baseball and softball. While using baseball as the vehicle we also have staff members that monitor the academic progress of CAROLINAS METRO INC. players (along with his/her coach) recommending solutions to the parents. We offer a FREE tutorial service, health and wellness training utilizing a team concept on an individual basis. We also offer physical fitness, speed and agility classes. We conduct workshops that entail various motivational speakers concentrating on needed life skills: Peer Pressure, Hygiene, TEAM Concept, Business, Finance, Importance of SAT, ACT, FAFSA.
All in all, our organization affords these young men and women an opportunity that they might not receive under many circumstances. We want to give them the necessary tools to become well rounded, productive young men and women using baseball & softball. Our organization will teach the work ethics needed to become a champion, not only on the field but in the classroom, place of business and life in general.”
The UDACF lent our President Jeff Schaefer to give his knowledge to the children as well! We are very proud to partner with such a great organization such as the Metro Reds who has interests of helping disadvantaged youth in the Charlotte community through baseball. Please see their website if you or someone you know would benefit from an organization such as the Metro Reds.
Thank you, Metro Reds for giving back to the community!
